Women In Collision Repair

An industry backed project that supports the diversification of the Collision Repair Industry through targeted recruitment and support of female talent in the industry.Through active collaboration with the Collision Repair Association and its regional branches, WICR is supporting women across the country.

We offer free support to:

Women wanting to explore collision repair as a career- We offer a range of services, from supporting C.V and cover letter preparation, coordinating work experience opportunities, to job application support and ongoing supports if you join the industry. We can work alongside you, or your school, or your employment programme.


Women already working in collision repair roles - If you are an apprentice, or women working in the industry we have supports available to help you connect and learn. Our peer - peer support system - The WICR Role Model Network - provides a framework of support across the country, helping apprentices connect with skilled tradespeople who are ready and waiting to help with apprenticeship work and advice. With WICR catch-ups and night classes held across the country, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved.

Employers and Industry stakeholders- This is a fantastic opportunity for employers to have an impact on the future development of your workforce. You may have room for an apprentice or room for a work experience student; we would love to work with you. You also benefit from the ongoing supports and pastoral care embedded in the programme. aimed at boosting retention, apprenticeship completion and upskilling. If you are an industry stakeholder and to be part of this project, let's talk about how we can collaborate to showcase your brand.

Schools, training providers and community groups - Do you have students/clients who would benefit from more information about collision repair trade pathways? We are happy to meet online and discuss our industry with any interested wahine. We are well versed in working with local industry to coordinate Gateway and work experience placements to help young people try our industry on for size. If you have a career event planned, we would be glad of the opportunity to coordinate collision repair industry representation.

RICHARD LUNN

Kia ora, my name is Rick Lunn and I am a Director, alongside my wife Tracey, at Smart Trade Solutions. I have worked in the Automotive Industry my entire life, after starting out as a Collision Repair Technician. I am a passionate advocate for the industry and have built a career out of supporting the training and development of its people. I am beyond thrilled to be able to deliver this project, which will have such a positive impact on the industry and people involved.

kia ora, my name is Marsh and I am lucky enough to work across various contracts for Smart Trade Solutions. I have worked across the trade industries for my entire career, and they have taken me across the world, and back. I am passionate about supporting people into trade careers in the hope that they benefit from a career as rewarding as mine. Women in Collision Repair is a fantastic project, and I'm thrilled to be able to use my expertise to support it.
